Collaboration Summary – Saledo & The Hague University of Applied Sciences
This collaboration marked the beginning of Saledo’s journey with The Hague University of Applied Sciences, bringing together academia and real-world food innovation. Throughout the engagement, food and chemical engineering students worked hands-on with Saledo’s green banana flour, exploring its functional properties and potential applications in new product development.
The collaboration focused on upcycling, circular food systems, and ingredient innovation—enabling students to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions while engaging directly with an impact-driven food brand. During this process, Saledo shared its story, production background, and mission to give surplus green bananas a new life, while gaining fresh perspectives, creative product ideas, and valuable applied research insights.
This collaboration is a great example of how applied education and real-world food innovation can come together to create meaningful, future-ready solutions. We’re excited to build on this momentum and take these ideas forward.
