We give bananas a new life!

Saledo is a food startup that upcycles bananas grown in a 500,000 m² banana greenhouse in Antalya into value-added products.

In our own greenhouse, we produce approximately 20,000 tons of bananas every year. However, a portion of this production is rejected because it does not meet the cosmetic standards of supermarkets.

The story of Saledo began with a simple question:

“How can these bananas be brought back into the production chain instead of being wasted?”

With this approach, we first transformed green bananas into flour, then developed gluten-free flour mixes that do not compromise on taste or practicality. We also began creating banana chips and sweet snack products made with green banana flour.

Today, Saledo has become a brand that brings together farm-to-fork production, product development, and sustainability through Türkiye’s first green banana flour production initiative.

While aiming to reintegrate approximately 1,000 tons of bananas into the production chain each year, Saledo is also exploring the use of banana peels in biocosmetic applications and biodegradable material solutions derived from banana tree-based raw materials.

Saledo’s Impact in Europe

One of Saledo’s strongest advantages is being both an innovative food startup and a producer with direct access to its own agricultural production infrastructure. This model supports stronger traceability, faster product development processes, and a more sustainable production system rooted in local agriculture.

As part of our work to date, we have collaborated with TNO on research related to green banana flour. In addition, our ingredient was featured as an example ingredient in the Food Reformulation Guide developed by Wageningen University & Research and Foodvalley NL.

Saledo has also been supported by international innovation programmes such as EIT Food Waste2Plate and EWA – Empowering Women in Agrifood. For Yourself…

For All of Us…

At Saledo, we believe that the good choices we make for ourselves can also contribute to a better future for society and our planet. That is why every product we develop is part of an approach that brings together sustainability, nutrition, and circular production.

So, How Does This Transformation Journey Work?

Every product we create is the result of a carefully designed process — from the raw ingredient to the final product. The harvested bananas are selected, cleaned, and processed with care.
Through this process, bananas are transformed into flour, mixes, and snack products.
