On the Road is a feature series that sheds light on the stories of impact-driven entrepreneurs and shares the lessons they’ve learned along their journeys.
In the September 2024 edition of the series, Saledo was featured. In this interview, Duygu Yılmaz Köksal shared how Saledo was born, the challenges faced along the way, and why they never gave up despite these obstacles.
The process that transformed green bananas into a valuable product over time was shaped by dedication and strong belief. As Duygu put it:
“The market already exists; what matters is communicating your product to people and being patient. The greatest strength is reminding yourself not to give up.”
This statement not only sums up the entrepreneurial process but also captures the foundation of an impact-oriented vision: inner motivation, determination, and a constant pursuit of innovation.
A reflection of this vision came to life on September 12 in The Hague, Netherlands, during our Baking the Future event. At this special gathering, we prepared two different banana bread recipes with Saledo’s green banana flour—one sweet and one savory—together with the participants.
The attendees not only tasted healthy alternatives but also left with valuable knowledge about the impact of nutrition on health thanks to the presentation of Doortje Böhm as she addressed the relationship between gut microbiota and nutrition. This event once again demonstrated that Saledo is not just a product brand—it’s also a movement for awareness.
If you’d like to witness this inspiring journey more closely, we invite you to explore the Saledo feature in the On the Road series.
